Progress has been made for girls and women globally, but inequalities in education still exist. At Roses Life Women Center, we stand to shed light on these issues and work towards finding solutions.
The Challenges Still Exist
Many obstacles that women face occurred before they stepped into a classroom, but it continues to affect learning.
These barriers include;
- Lack of Representation in fields, such as STEM.
- Economic Hardship which forces girls and women to prioritize work or family care.
- Gender Based Violence and or Unsafe Environments.
- Early Marriage or Motherhood, which limits educational opportunities.
- Cultural Expectations which devalues girl’s and women’s education.
Even for women who can access education, the system may not be there to fully support them equally. There’s gender bias in textbooks, expectations, classroom dynamics and career pathways can restrict equal outcomes.
The Need For Inclusion
Having access to education is only the first step. True and honest equality requires inclusivity, supportive environments which encourage women to lead, grow and question.
Such as;
- Equal opportunities to pursue male dominated fields.
- Community programs that challenge the long standing stereotypes.
- Gender sensitive teaching practices.
- A safe space for women to find their voices and share their experiences.
- Mentorship and career support.
Roses Life Women Center is committed to helping girls and women unlock their door to education and find their confidence to thrive.
How We Help To Break These Barriers
Our Mission is based on Healing, Empowerment, Education and Community. Through specialized programs, workshops, support groups and leadership development, we are able to help women overcome the many systemic barriers that limit and or silence them.
When women are fully supported, the community can benefit. Empowering one woman creates a ripple effect for families, neighbours and generations.
